I’ve been in prayer meetings that made me think I was at a medical convention. We spend almost all of our time praying to keep saints outta heaven instead of praying to get sinners into heaven. Auntie Em’s bad knee is not a big issue compared to billions without Him.

THIS. I get so frustrated sometimes in Bible Study or Sunday School when all the prayer requests are medical in nature. I of all people understand the seriousness of medical conditions, but come on folks, there are so many more things to take to God in prayer. Do people not have other struggles in their lives? Why are people not willing to open up about their struggles with their friends in an environment that is supposed to be nurturing and caring? And why are we not praying for persecuted Christians around the world? Why are we not praying for the missionaries bringing the gospel to them? And why are we not praying for our own selves to be faithful in following God’s command to bring his message to the nations?
